Staff Review
Montclair, Virginia Domino's didn't give me proper training and treated me unfairly.
I'm currently an employee at the Domino's situated in Dumfries, Virginia. The store address is 5159 Waterway Dr, Dumfries VA 22025.
There are several incidences that have occurred and have been extremely disheartening as I was recommended to work at Domino's as I heard nothing but good things about them as far as their job training and the friendly people.
However, when the Domino's Manager first contacted me for an interview I went in prepared to be interviewed only to be told that the manager was not in and they had no idea what was going on. The assistant manager proceeded to interview me with simply asking about myself and my job history. I was told that the manager would contact me for a second interview. I waited and was never called so I called them. The manager then told me to come in for another interview. I went in a second time and again, he was not there. An employee took down my name and number and said I would be contacted. I waited and was never contacted so I called again.
The assistant manager apologized on the manager's behalf and told me he would tell him manager once more to contact me. He finally did a day later. He told me to come in so I could fill out some paperwork and get started. He told me to come in at approximately 9 AM. I was there at 8:55 AM. I had to wait until 9:30 for the assistant manager to come in and open the door. I had knocked on the door and called twice.
The manager had been in the back the whole time ignoring my calls. I went in and filled out the paperwork. He explained to me the basics of what I had to wear and told me about orientation--which was the following day at 6pm. Before I could go in for orientation, the assistant manager called me to give me a folder with a packet of my interview information and a photocopy of my driver's license, birth certificate and I believe my military ID.
I don't quite remember--but when I went to pick it up, I noticed that the packet had a name crossed out and someone else's information in it; including their interview and personal information. My name was placed in the slot where the other name was previously in marker and I was extremely confused.
I went into orientation and the manager there at the other store which is located on Jefferson Davis Hwy looked over my paperwork and shook her head, and proceeded to say that it was normal for Montclair to be disorganized and to do things like this. She called the assistant manager at Montclair and complained about the situation. He only apologized and said that he would make a new one for me.
There was also an another future employee from Montclair that didn't even have paperwork so she was told that she would have to come in on Saturday because Montclair has sent her unprepared. After orientation, I contacted the assistant manager about my schedule. She told me that the manager had not made one for me, but I could come in for training.
I went in for training Monday and only received 1 hour. I was very confused and didn't know exactly what to do. I asked questions and asked for help and I was helped, which I was very grateful for but after an hour the assistant manager told me that I could leave. I left, feeling extremely nervous as I was then given a schedule and I'm supposed to start on Friday. I contacted the other assistant manager asking if I could have more training. I had only been given an hour and knew
I needed more help. She said she would ask the manager. He said that I could have more training before my shift. I went in today for the training, ready--the manager was there. I clocked in and was ready to start working and started to go over the things I had did before. The manager answered one of my questions, however an employee came up to me and stated that I had no reason to be there and furthermore I can't work because I didn't have a belt. I said that the manager said I could have more training but she went to the manager and he then told me to leave. He said that I was unprepared and didn't have a belt.
I was very upset and clocked out. What makes things even worse was that the employees there were also not following the dress code.
The manager did not wash his hands as he went back and forth from his office before preparing food and there was an employee running around with no hat, wasn't even dressed in her uniform as she was going back and forth and with her shoes untied. I was not the only one that witnessed this.
I was extremely shocked that I was put out for not having a belt when these other employees were not following the dress code at all and were laughing and joking with the manager.
I contacted corporate about this issue and they have filed a complaint for me as well as sent this incident to other places.
I want to know who else I can contact because the manager promised me 3 days of full training and I did not receive that at all. I had to ask for more help and training because I felt unprepared.
This is my first job and I am having a terrible experience.

HORRIBLE - MY ORDER NEVER CAME!!! 3514 NOSTRAND AVENUE BROOKLYN NY 11229 LOCATION
I placed an order at 9:48pm on Friday 11/14/14... and waited and waited and waited for my food.
When I looked in my email confirmation it said delivery within 131-141 minutes. EEK!! That's long, but it was ok (kinda, not really). 4 hours later still no food.
I called multiple times and no one answered the phone!! And that message on the phone while you wait could make you contemplate going crazy. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I went to bed hungry.
I would have went there to pick up the food which is what I would normally do, but I hurt my leg and cannot get around easily. The trackers even showed my food was ready for delivery. And NOTHINGGGG. Called my credit card company in the morning, of which they informed me that Domino's reversed the charge this morning.
No email, no anything from Domino's. I don't know if something happened to the workers (hope not).
The message on their phone says they are hiring for all positions. If you can't handle the orders, don't take them!!!

I'm sorry that your having a rough time. I've worked for Domino's and loved it until it was bought out and new management came in.
First jobs are very nerve wracking and I honestly suggest finding a new one. It shouldn't be so hard to get training but it is in this company. On top of that every chance the other employees have they will throw you under the bus.
I personally don't think you should sweat this job. They aren't the best to work for in the first place.
