I ordered pizza one night. I had a phone call, and decided to wait outside for the pizza.

I was getting pizza for my girlfriend, my roommate, and myself. The delivery man came, and I hadn't seen him at first (we live in a basement level condo.) As I approached, I saw my roommate hand the delivery guy something, which I assumed was the tip because I was paying for the pizza. I was going to tip my own tip anyways. I knew it wasn't the receipt because the delivery guy handed me the receipt once I got to him.

I signed it, took the pizza in one arm, phone in the other hand and said: "hold on a sec" (so I could take my wallet out of my pocket and get his tip.) and he replied with "Okay so you just want me to leave the balance as it is, no tip? Okay!" and stormed off. (I paid with a credit card beforehand over the phone) so yeah. What a charming dude huh?

I called and complained to the manager, which I rarely do, because I felt it was appropriate this time. She offered to send me some free stuff with a different driver, I declined, because I am not an 'entitlement ***' I just wanted her to know what a *** she has working for her...

Looking back, I should've said yeah send me something for free so I can tip the new driver the other driver's tip.

I am a top notch Dominos Delivery Expert as we are called. I am also a manager in training.

I think Joel's comment on a little extra topping is disgusting. You wouldn't be working where I do. Thanks for giving all of us a bad reputation. If that's how you feel don't deliver pizzas.

No one in our store talks like that, we have a great team.

As for 007, I don't know your age or how long ago you were a driver but people are tight with tips a lot of the time. I am a single mom with an Associates Degree and can't find employment that will pay me enough to support my child. I was desperate for a job and applied, I am barely paying my rent.

Depending on the location, no we don't make a lot of money, especially when the store owner is too cheap to pay us a better hourly wage. We don't even get the entire delivery fee that the customer is charged. So when I don't get a tip, I'm driving a half hour for .85 from Dominos. There are selfish people who don't tip.

Do they tip in restuarants? Sure they do, but someone bringing food to their house is not worth a tip. Seems to me the driver was confused and thought you were talking on the phone. But the driver was very rude, I would not put up with an employee like that.

However, when I deliver a pizza order that costs let's say $24.80, the person hands me $25.00 and says keep it.

I think to myself, wow thanks for the .20 that helps with my gas. Here's my tip to you--always take the free food.

Did you not read the part where I said that I told him to hold on?

Did you read the part where I said I had the phone in one hand and pizza in the other arm? He *** left before I could fill in the tip slot.

And yeah *** I used to work at Dominos (not as a driver) when I was 17. I know what drivers make and all that other noise. I also know it's company policy not to be a *** about tips. You're actually not even supposed to ask for one. I do tip, ***.

And yeah, just so you know they do also get paid a bit for every delivery for gas. And if it's that much of a big deal about the insurance and their own car and all that, get another job. All of the delivery guys I knew when they worked there said they made out quite well financially so screw off.

There is a tip line on the Dominos slip which u obviously didn't fill in. Nor did you say you had a cash tip for him so he had no way of knowing and you didn't have the decency to tell him.

Dominos driver's drive for minimum wage in their own cars and pay for their own gas and insurance. Only *** don't tip and then call to complain about the driver. He got your food there hot and on time, and you disrespected him.

Now every driver at that store knows his version of events and yes they all will remember. Think about that before you order again because they are alone with your food on the way there and you will be getting a little extra topping I'm sure.
